Meg Fletcher

DSA Award Winner (2012)

Meg has been a volunteer at the Scarborough Bluffs Tennis Club in numerous capacities for over 25 years, including 11 years as President. Meg also served as President of the Scarborough Tennis Federation from 2004 - 2007 and on the OTA Board as Regional Chair.

Meg worked collaboratively with the City of Toronto to ensure that the city continued to invest in tennis in Scarborough. She also ensured that all Scarborough Tennis Federation clubs were members of the Ontario Tennis Association, organized Tennis Pathways events, a volunteer appreciation day for club presidents and the Scarborough Tennis Federation Member Appreciation Day.

Meg was always a strong advocate for junior tennis. As Junior Convenor, she introduced Mini Tennis by canvassing elementary schools and offering every junior who signed up a free t-shirt and a can of balls. Over 150 juniors signed up in one year.

Meg has always had a passion for tennis and continues to work to improve tennis in Scarborough where she has been a tireless promotor of the sport. Among her many accomplishments, Meg was instrumental in raising the profile of the Scarborough Tennis Federation.
