VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT ONTARIO TENNIS ASSOCIATION 

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the OTA. The success of our organization is dependent on volunteers giving their time and sharing their passion for tennis with others whether it is serving on a committee, helping at a tournament, assisting at special events or initiating a program in your community. They are the heartbeat of our organization and seek to create welcoming environments that encourage and support engagement in the sport of tennis so that OTA better reflects the rich diversity of Ontario in all aspects of our organization.

ABOUT US 

The OTA is the provincial sport governing body for tennis in Ontario. A non-profit organization, it is the largest provincial tennis association in Canada, boasting 250 clubs and approximately 65,000 adult and junior tennis players. The OTA makes tennis more accessible for all Ontarians, supports and provides services that assist players to reach their personal goals and abilities. The OTA’s strengths are in its sheer numbers, its presence throughout the province, and in the creation and maintenance of an atmosphere of unlimited tennis opportunities for players of all levels, from grassroots to national calibre athletes. 

The OTA takes Safe Sport very seriously. Safe Sport aims to create safe and positive environments for participants to enjoy and prosper in tennis. Safe and positive environments are those within which participants can play, train, and compete without fear of bullying, harassment, or abuse. The OTA’s commitment aims to ensure steadfast adherence to best practices, consistent policy implementation, and alignment with esteemed organizations such as Tennis Canada, the Coaches Association of Canada, the Government of Ontario, and other prominent leaders in the realm of Safe Sport.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS & BOARD COMMITTEES 

Are you passionate about tennis and looking for a way to contribute to the sport's growth in Ontario? We invite you to join the OTA as a board member and/or committee member. 

Our Board of Directors is a group of committed leaders who provide strategic direction and governance for our organization. The Board is responsible for overseeing our mission, setting long-term goals, ensuring financial stability, and guiding the organization as we work to promote and grow tennis across the province. 

Our board committees are specialized teams formed to focus on various aspects of our organization's mission, from expanding tennis programs to enhancing our facilities, fundraising, marketing, and more. Each committee is tasked with setting goals, developing strategies, and implementing initiatives that align with our overarching vision of promoting and growing tennis across the province. 

We are looking for individuals who are: 

  • Enthusiastic about tennis and community service 
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit 
  • Possess leadership experience and strategic thinking skills 
  • Are ready to take on the responsibilities of governance and stewardship 
  • Interested in contributing their time, ideas, and expertise 
  • Ready to take on responsibilities and make a difference
