Helen Trainor

DSA Award Winner (2011)

A major contributer to the success of the North York tennis community for almost 40 years. A dedicated volunteer at several tennis clubs in North York from the early 1970s until 2008 serving in the positions of President, Treasurer, Membership Director, House Leauge and Tournament Co-ordinator as well as many other roles as required. Awarded a Life Membership by Parkway Valley Tennis Club and an Honorary Membership by Don Mills Tennis Club.

Since 1990 has participated in the tennis section of the Ontario Senior Games as a player and as an organizer. Currently serves the Ontario Senior Games as tennis Committee Chair as well as Tennis Convenor and District Director.

Helen's dedicated volunteer career has been recognized by the City of Toronto for her 20 years of service in the North York Senior Games and by the Province of Ontario in awarding her the Bob Secord Award of Excellence as the Top Ontario Female Volunteer for 2006.
