Jamie Grieve

Meet Jamie Grieve, a new addition to the OTA Bord of Directors. He joins the board in the capacity of North Region Chair. Jamie was the Head Pro/Manager of the Thunder Bay Community Tennis Centre for 21 years from 2000-2021. Prior to being the head professional, he was on the board of directors at the Thunder Bay club from 1990-1999. He also had 4 years as an assistant pro during the 90’s. He ran a Winter Program for a select group of juniors who trained at the Confederation College indoor courts tom 1993 until the facility closed in 2017. He was also the Tournament Director of the $12,000 Mid Canada Open Tennis tournament one of the largest amateur prize money tournaments in Canada. It was a 4 Star Provincial Tournament until it was recently designated as part of Tennis Canada’s 1000-point Tournament Series.
Jamie has 23 years of experience as a certified Elite Professional with the United States Professional Tennis Association. He has been teaching tennis for 33 years and seen many of his students go on to play college tennis. He is still involved in the project to bring 6 covered courts to Thunder Bay. They have received 1.5 million in government grants and 1.5 million from the city of Thunder Bay. The Tennis Centre is hoping to be selected with another grant from Rogers and Tennis Canada.
He has a wonderful family. His wife Luci is from Venezuela and is an RN in ICU, his daughter Lara 12 and son Jonathan 9 are looking to start playing year-round tennis. Jamie is also a Letter Carrier with Canada Post (in his day job). Welcome Jamie!
