Raise the Net

Through RAISE THE NET, the OTA is educating volunteers, parents, players, and tennis administrators on the principles of the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) plan.

The main goals of the program are to:

(1) Educate Ontarians on tennis' LTAD model;

(2) Increase volunteerism and enhance volunteer capacity;

(3) Encourage participation in tennis at community tennis clubs in Ontario; and

(4) Ensure the long-term strength, organization and effectiveness of community tennis clubs.

To achieve these goals, Raise the Net will:

> Deliver seminars and workshops on the LTAD at community tennis clubs

> Provide skill enhancement opportunities for volunteers through the Volunteer Education Program.  Volunteers are eligible to receive discounted rates on the OTA's Tennis Instructor course and Tennis Canada's Introduction to Officiating course.

> Enhance your community club events via the Smash Cage, racquet demos, contests and giveaways.

> Provide Club Executives with access to great resources and support materials covering all facets of maintaining a successful and thriving club.
