Community Tennis League Player Profiles
The Ontario Tennis Association in, partnership with Tennis Canada, recently launched a pilot program in the Ontario Southwest region – Community Tennis Leagues.
In this week’s SPIN, we profile another player who participated in a Community Tennis League match!
Marsha Huff
Marsha Huff, (above, right) grew up in a tennis-playing family in Brantford but opted for soccer as her sport-of-choice during school years. With her children now in university (a hockey playing son and a figure-skating daughter), Marsha has joined the post-covid cohort who are discovering that tennis has been patiently waiting for them. She’s enjoyed taking lessons with Joel Cruz at the Grimsby Tennis Club and jumped on the chance to join a Community Tennis League when the club sent the notice to all the members. Now she’s hoping to find some indoor access in order to keep developing her skills during the winter months. Daytimes find her enjoying her work as national sales manager for Medela, a socially responsible medical supply company.
Rosemary Goodwin (OTA Board SW Region Chair, above left) is a self-confessed tennis-addict. Meeting people who share a love for the game is a never-ending joy. She’s motivated by the challenges of providing service and support to the incredibly diverse tennis community, and happily gives her time and energy to projects designed to grow our sport.
