OTA’s Passages Womens’ Mentorship Program – Athletes Selected!
The Passages Women’s Mentorship Program has begun! Congratulations are in order for the final roster of women who have been selected. 25 participants will be going through the coaching stream, led by Rachel Gould, Nikki Carnovale and Leigh Bradwell; and 5 participants will be going through the officiating stream led by Alison Dias.
The first official online Passages group mentoring session was held on Sunday, April 24th. There was fantastic participation and discussion throughout it. The mixture of experience and ages made for a great dynamic for participants to learn from one another. The mentors ran several breakout room segments to get to know the participants more.
Upcoming events for Passages include the first on-court regroupings which is scheduled for May 7th and May 8th at Headwaters Racquet Club. Going forward, the participants will go through a number of activities including: further group and individual mentoring sessions; apprenticeship placement at OTA sanctioned events or community programs; completion of the Tennis Instructors or Officiating certification courses; and first aid certification.
