$17,200 in Prize Money Awarded in the 2018 Mayfair Toronto Pro League

The 2018 Mayfair Toronto Pro League (MTPL) was a huge success this season. With 54 players and over 1,400 spectators there was excitement at every match… and the finals did not disappoint. Each team had their own cheering section as Team Supreme Court and Team Authentic Asset Management battled it out for first and second place and Team Oleiva and Team Baird MacGregor played their hearts out for third and fourth place.

Team Supreme Court and Team Authentic Asset Management were tied 2-2 at the end of all four matches, so a doubles super tie breaker was played to decide the champion of the 2018 MTPL.  Team Authentic Asset Management took the title for the second year in row – The 2018 Mayfair Toronto Pro League Champions.

Team Oleiva was just too tough and they took third place with a 4 – 0 win over Team Baird MacGregor. It was a tough season for Team BMG as they had 12 third set tie-breakers and lost them all. But they were not disappointed, they had a great season and will be back to challenge again in 2019.

2018 Mayfair Toronto Pro League Final Standings:

Team Authentic Asset Management – 1st Place

Team Supreme Court – 2nd Place

Team Oleiva – 3rd Place

Team Baird MacGregor – 4th Place

“We could not have asked for a better group of players and fans”, said Sandra Barrett, the 2018 MTPL Organizer. “The tennis was incredible to watch and, each week, we saw the crowds grow in size. It was also amazing to see Denis Shapovalov, Rob Steckley and Milos Raonic attend the 2018 MTPL and cheer on their friends. It was such a great environment for players and fans to meet them.

“Events this size cannot come to life without the help of so many great people. We would like to thank all of our sponsors and team owners, especially George Fischer Photography. Not only was George Fischer Photography our Title Sponsor, George also personally attended the Finals, autographed over 50 of his books and generously handed them out to our spectators. We also need to thank Mayfair Clubs and all of their amazing staff who helped to bring the MTPL to life and host it each week.”

According to Sandra the 2019 Mayfair Toronto Pro League is already in the planning phase for next year. Watch for more exciting news coming in early spring.
