Tennis Resorts at ESPN Wide World of Sports

New Official Southern Tennis Destination of OTA

The OTA is pleased to announce that Tennis Resorts is the new Official Southern Tennis Destination of the Ontario Tennis Association (OTA), effective March 1, 2016.

Tennis Resorts hosts events at the Tennis Complex at ESPN Wide World of Sports facility, located at Walt Disney World® near Orlando, Florida. There are 10 manicured Har-Tru courts including a 1,000 seat stadium court. The facility was the former home of the ATP U.S. Clay Court Championships and currently plays host to the USTA Clay Court Collegiate Invitational, a “grand slam type” event featuring 128 men and women players from top college teams in the country. It also hosts high performance junior camps, tournament training events, adult instruction, and tennis getaways for singles, families and tennis groups of all levels. This unique destination in Walt Disney World® provides tennis players with a first class tennis experience, incredible off-court attractions and amenities.

The on-court programming and resort operations are overseen by Carlos Goffi. Carlos’ career has encompassed nearly every sector in the tennis industry. He was a leading Brazilian player and one of the country’s pioneers as a student athlete in the U.S. His best seller “Tournament Tough,” which was recently updated and published as a Kindle E-Book, and his coaching of John and Patrick McEnroe, earned Goffi the 1991 Coach of the Year award and cemented his reputation as one of the world’s top coaches. He has also been the Director of Tennis Promotions for Dunlop Slazenger, Director of Tennis Marketing for Nike Latin America and has been involved in many other entrepreneurial projects.

As part of the partnership with the OTA, and working with Expedia CruiseShipCenters The Beach in Toronto, Tennis Resorts offers OTA players, clubs and pros a variety of exclusive tennis vacation and training options. Competitive and recreational packages are available year-round. Travel package details will be available shortly.

Executive Director of the OTA Jim Boyce commented: “The OTA is pleased to be a partner with Tennis Resorts. We believe that this tennis facility will offer our members a first class tennis experience and, combined with all the great attractions that the Orlando area offers, will become a “must go” tennis destination”.

“We are delighted with the OTA’s support and look forward to welcoming all tennis players from Ontario to the Tennis Complex at ESPN Wide World of Sports”, said Goffi.
