Tennis Professional
Club/Facility:
Kingston Tennis Club
Location:
Kingston, Ontario
The Kingston Racquet Centre is seeking a full-time tennis professional.
THE FACILITY
The Kingston Racquet Centre (KRC) opened for tennis in October, 2023. It features 6 hard courts inside a state-of-the-art dome, including seating areas and shower and changeroom amenities. The Centre also includes a separate 12-court pickleball and multi-sport dome. The KRC is part of the Tennis Clubs of Canada network, a leader in facility creation and management, with eight additional clubs operating across Ontario.
THE MISSION
Prior to the KRC, Kingston had no indoor tennis for many years, despite a large and active seasonal tennis community. Our current mission is to re-build tennis as a year-round sport, and be a tennis development leader in the region and beyond. Our two years have been extremely successful, with hundreds of members and non-members participating in programs, camps, tournaments and events. We offer instruction and play from introductory to master-class levels for juniors and adults, ages 5 and up. All programming is delivered through the Noble Tennis School, founded by KRC Director Tony Roth. Our tennis professionals implement the NTS philosophy and methods, and are integral leaders in the success of our tennis development mission.
JOB DESCIRPTION
Working closely with the Director, the Teaching Professional will be responsible for the delivery of instructional and organized play programs. He or she will teach group and private lessons, and will lead or assist with leagues, tournaments, socials and special events. The Pro can expect to be on court 20-35 hours per week, depending on demand and preference. He or she must be willing and able to teach a wide variety of ages and levels, both juniors and adults. The pro will be required to implement the mission and values of Tennis Clubs of Canada, and the philosophy, pathways and methodology of the Noble Tennis School.
Employment can commence from August 15 onwards.
REMUNERATION
Rates will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
