Tennis Coach

Who We Are

York Old Mill Tennis Club is a long-standing, very successful community tennis club in Toronto’s historic Old Mill neighbourhood, steps from the Humber River and the TTC. We’re a friendly, active, multi-generational club with strong recreational and competitive traditions. As a member-driven non-profit, we pride ourselves on being welcoming, inclusive, and community focused.

From spring through fall, our outdoor courts host casual play, competitive interclub leagues, clinics from beginner to advanced players, socials, junior tournaments, and junior development programs. Supported by a dedicated volunteer Board and seasonal staff, we work together to create an exceptional club experience for all. 

What We’re Looking For

York Old Mill Tennis Club is building something special this summer — and we’re looking for coaches who want to be part of it, we are looking for instructor, CP1, CP2, or Coach 2 certified coaches

If you’re energetic, community-minded, and love creating a great on-court experience — we want to meet you.

This is a mid- to full-time seasonal tennis coaching position with strong hours available throughout the summer. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Programming includes: 

  • Summer camps
  • Social mixers, round robins, and club events
  • Junior programs and high-volume summer camps
  • Adult clinics (mixed levels)
  • Private lessons (strong member demand) 

Professional Credentials

  • TPA Certification – Club Pro 1 (CP1) or Instructor
  • At least 2 years coaching experience
  • Safe Sport Training
  • First Aid & CPR
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)
  • Competitive playing background is an asset. 

Event Coordination & Member Engagement

  • Lead the logistics, promotion, and execution of club events, socials, tournaments, and community programs
  • Work with the Head Pro to ensure tennis events have strong support (they bring the tennis energy; you handle the setup, schedules, and flow)
  • Create a welcoming, friendly front-of-house presence — the person members know they can come to with questions
  • Help increase event participation by promoting activities and building excitement through emails, CourtReserve updates, and social media
  • Support a positive, inclusive, and community-centered environment across all age groups
