Stony Lake Yacht Club (www.slyc.ca) is located on an island on Stony Lake, Ontario, 1.5 hrs northeast of Toronto, in the heart of cottage country. They are hiring a Head Tennis Pro for the 2024 season (8 weeks), starting June 28. The Head Pro will provide on-court instruction to players of all skill levels, plan summer
programming, offer private lessons, and run clinics for both adults and kids. They will report to the SLYC Tennis Co-Directors and manage a staff of 6-8 Junior Pros and volunteers.
Qualifications
- 5+ years as a tennis instructor: OTA Level 2 certificate minimum
- Current First Aid & CPR certification is beneficial
- Proven ability to manage the expectations of parents for their children and themselves, as well as coach some provincial-level talent
Requirements
- Must be able to facilitate programming for 400+ members over 3 courts, balancing the scheduling of free play, clinics and lessons
- Enjoy working with players of all ages and coaching group lessons
- Develop program plans for each day, including coaching goals
- Coach and develop the Junior Pros and volunteers to grow as coaches and players
- Friendly and energetic with an ability to engage and motivate people and students
- Be available for special events
- Ability to work, or easily attain working status, in Canada
Compensation
- Based on experience and qualifications
- A cottage will be provided, along with a boat to travel to and from the club
