6.fitness ( www.6.fitness) is a boutique gym nestled within the Veneto Tennis Club in Woodbridge, specializing in high-performance athlete development. They are hiring a Fitness Trainer for our team, with a keen focus on working with junior tennis players who are on the path to national and international acclaim.
The Fitness Trainer will collaborate closely with tennis coaches to design and implement tailored training programs, on-court movement assessments, and tennis-specific warm-ups. This role provides the unique opportunity to work and develop world-class junior tennis players.
- Experience as a fitness trainer; tennis-specific training is a big plus.
- Knowledge of modern training practices and program design, with a focus on tennis.
- A degree or ongoing education in kinesiology, sport science, or a related field is beneficial.
- Experience with heart rate, VO2 max, Wingate testing, VBT (Velocity Based Training), movement screening, and mobility assessments is considered an asset.
- Passion for athlete development, with a specific interest in tennis.
- Active fitness certification or willingness to undertake the Tennis Canada fitness certification.
- Ability to collaborate with tennis coaches and other professionals.
- Design and implement training programs for individual and group settings.
- Conduct goal setting sessions and provide objective measurement of the set goals.
- Engage closely with both national and international junior tennis players.
- Manage, supervise, and ensure safety in the gym space.
- Friendly and motivating demeanour with strong communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work as a self-starter.
- Valid work status in Canada.
- Ranging from $25 to $50 CAD/hr based on experience and qualifications.
