About Us
The Applewood Tennis Club first opened its doors in 1979 located in the area of Dixie and Bloor. Since then, this club has been a part of Mississauga’s diverse tennis community, creating an environment for people to play and learn more about the great sport of tennis. It consists of 6 outdoor tennis courts permitted by the City of Mississauga with roughly around members.
The members of Applewood Tennis Club are diverse and multicultural. We welcoming to new members and players of all levels. The club is looking to provide tennis lessons to junior and adult members, and to run organized activities designed to accommodate all levels of tennis players within the community.
Qualifications
- Minimum Certified Instructor/ Club Pro 1
- Ability to play with all levels up to Level 4
- Experience coaching both adults and juniors is an asset
- Friendly, caring, outgoing, punctual, reliable, willingness to improve
- Flexibility to coach daytime, evenings, and weekends
- Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic
- Good communication/interpersonal skills with all age groups
Responsibilities
- Design and implement adult and junior tennis programming to meet member needs
- Offer private/semi-private tennis coaching to both adults and juniors
- Assist with organizing and actively take part in social events (set up by the board of directors)
- Run summer camps together with other coach and or/assistants
- Support the tennis monitor with adult round robins
Compensation
- To be negotiated with the club president & other members of the board
- Free tennis during duration of contract
