Newmarket Community Tennis Club

In 2026, Newmarket Community Tennis Club (NCTC) will celebrate their 80th Anniversary, founded in 1946. The club is a Not-For-Profit organization which aims to promote tennis, good sportsmanship, and community spirit in Newmarket, Ontario.

NCTC operates all tennis programming and club operations from May to September at the Keith Davis Tennis Centre, run by a dedicated group of volunteers. We offer a wide range of lessons, programs, clinics and leagues for all levels and ages. We are recognized nationally for our fantastic junior high-performance development program and recently awarded the “Outstanding Club Award” by the OTA (Ontario Tennis Association).  Canadian rising ATP tennis star, Liam Draxl is proud to call NCTC his home club and can occasionally be seen practicing during the summer months with his father Brian Draxl, Head Pro at Newmarket Community Tennis Club.

NCTC has a long established partnership with the Town of Newmarket, which provides access to and subsidizes the new 10-court, Keith Davis Tennis Centre, clubhouse, facility maintenance and court equipment. All junior and adult lessons, clinics and high performance programs are under the direction of our Head Pro, Brian Draxl and our Club Pro/Manager, Shane Hickson.  Our club pros are assisted by qualified instructors, many of whom played and trained at NCTC.
