Scott Fraser
Past Chair of the Board

After nine years as Vice President, he became President of the Club, a position he held from 2002-2005 and again from 2017-2020. During that time Scott was involved in all aspects of Club operations, servicing over 400 members. This included organizing socials, managing the club pro and monitors, running small club tournaments, budgeting, developing online registration, and most recently in 2017, worked with the City of Markham to build a new 950 sq ft clubhouse facility, which was upgraded in 2020 in preparation for a future indoor bubble operation. In 2018 he worked with his volunteer board to celebrate the Club’s 50th anniversary.
His reputation as a well-rounded Club volunteer led to him joining the OTA Board as Chair of North Central Region in 2006. Recognized by his fellow directors as a leader and a doer, Scott was elected to the role of Vice Chair, Finance & Administration in 2009, and then as Chair of the Board in 2012. After serving 5 years as Past Chair, Scott continued as a senior contributing member of the board as a Director-at-Large. As of March 2023, Scott has rejoined the Executive Committee of the Board in the role of Past Chair.
In addition to his Board responsibilities, Scott was a senior IT manager at Exxon Mobile Canada for 24 years, retiring in 2008. He and his wife Kim have raised two beautiful children, now adults and making their own careers.
