The Ontario Tennis Association (OTA) Appoints New Chair of the Board of Directors – Second Woman to Serve in this Capacity in its 103-Year History

The OTA is pleased to announce the appointment of Dianne Weatherby as Chair of its Board of Directors. Dianne succeeds Rob Nicholls, a retired Bay Street corporate securities lawyer and former Partner at Stikeman Elliott law firm.
“I would like to thank Rob Nicholls for his four-year contribution as Chair of the Board and for his mentorship and support over the years,” said Weatherby. “I am honoured and delighted to be the second woman to serve as Chair in the association’s 103-year history.”
Outgoing Chair Rob Nicholls welcomed the appointment. “I heartily endorse Dianne’s appointment as she has diligently and effectively served tennis at the regional and provincial level for 15 years and I have no doubt she will be an effective leader.”
Dianne has served on the Board of Directors of the OTA since 2012, and for the past six years has held the position of Vice-Chair, Marketing and Communications on the Board’s Executive Committee. She has been President of her community tennis club since 2006. In 2020, Dianne retired from the Board of Directors of the Scarborough Tennis Federation after 14 years of serving in various capacities, including President and Past President. She has been a member of the City of Toronto Tennis Liaison Committee since 2014.
Dianne has worked in the securities industry for almost 30 years, and currently works in the public affairs department of a regulatory organization where she is responsible for the management and execution of high profile, large-scale corporate events across the country. She has been a United Way Employee Campaign Chair for 20 years and is a United Way Voting Member. Since 2018, Dianne has also served on the Board of Directors of YouthLink, a youth mental health agency and charity, and is currently the Chair of the Community Engagement Committee.
