Andrew Fan
Vice Chair, Finance & Administration
Andrew has been a professional accountant (CPA, CMA) since 1992, and worked in the corporate world in financial management for over two decades. He has experience at two of the big banks and other large and small organizations, including municipal government and not-for-profit, where his areas of expertise included financial planning and analysis, budgeting/forecasting and accounting. Currently semi-retired, he has been a Financial Planner/Advisor for over 15 years, working with a small number of investment and tax clients.
Andrew has long been associated with community club tennis in North York, having been either president or vice-president and also simultaneously treasurer of the Seneca Hill TC from the 1980’s to 2020. Notable accomplishments at the club included: implementing club programming (leagues, socials etc.), running lessons, managing court monitors/teaching pros, merging with another small club (Pleasantview TC), overseeing a major court rebuilding, liaising with NYTA/Toronto Parks & Rec/OTA, and basically anything necessary to ensure the survival of a small community tennis club.
Andrew has also volunteered with the Intercounty Tennis Association, serving on their Executive board for a couple of years (Secretary and Grievance committee), and acting as a division chair for the last eight years. He was the proud captain of an ICTA league team for over 20 years, and a member at Unionville TC since 2017. He is also an active OTA tournament competitor in the MS60+ senior division.
Another interest of Andrew’s is music, having been a certified piano teacher (Associateship from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto) and still a part-time teacher since the 1980's.
