Anne Marie Hudak

Anne Marie Hudak is a dedicated, energetic volunteer serving the Executive of the Fort Erie Tennis Club as President or Vice President of the past 23 years.  She initiated the involvement of the FETC in raising funds for program and facility growth through Bingo Lotteries in 1982 that continues to the present day.

Over the past twenty years, due to the Lottery subsidization, the facility has evolved from 4 run down municipal courts into a site that boasts of seven well cared for courts, a clubhouse, pavilion, storage room, new lighting, and fences.  The Junior Instructional program has grown from dozens of participants and one instructor to an annual average of 200 children participating in the six-week Spring "Head Start" and the eight-week Summer Tennis Instructional Program with five qualified instructors.  This subsidized, low-cost program is one of the largest in Ontario.

Anne Marie has been instrumental in establishing partnerships with the OTA, Human Resources Development Canada and the local community organizations to make the FETC a resounding success story.  Lottery contributions have funded not only the Junior program, equipment and facility improvement, but also included donations to the local hospital, playground equipment, the electronic sign board at the library, as well as annual scholarships to deserving secondary school graduates attending three local high schools.
