Stan Hannaford

Stan Hannaford has contributed for many years in making tennis in Ontario successful at the club, regional, and the provincial level.  As the OTA President, he also contributed at the national level.  His involvement in a tennis club executive was at the Aldershot Tennis Club where he served as Treasurer and then President between 1990 and 1993.  Between 1993 and 1996, he was a member of the South West regional committee, serving as Chair from 1994 to 1996.  In 1996, he became an OTA Executive member, serving first as a Vice President, then President and then Past President.

When Stan was VP, Membership & Regional Development and based on his experience as a regional Chair, he initiated the Regional Council that met separately to discuss regional matters.  As VP, Finance & Adminsitration, he redeveloped the OTA's accounting system that is now the basis for decision making by the OTA Board.  As Presdient, Stan led the development of the 2001-2004 Strategic Plan and was instrumental in ensuring that the OTA had a significant voice in the development of the Rexall Centre.  During his OTA involvement, Stan initiated a procedure to document policies.  He also proposed the Distinguised Service Award.
