Klaus D. Bindhardt

OTA President from 1973-76, Past President 1976-77.  Was instrumental in formalizing the regional structure of the OTA by revising the By-Laws and restructuing the composition of the, then named Council - now Board of Directors, to reflect this new orientation.  Promoted the creation of community tennis clubs by encouraging local municipal councils to allow a club system on public courts - the basis of our strong tennis communities in Ontario.

Was Chairman of the Toronto Lawn TC where the first Canadian Open Championship was held in 1968 and thereafter served on the Canadian Open Management Committee seven years until 1975.  Was President of the CLTA (now Tennis Canada) 1980-85 where he was instrumental in raising the financing and overseeing the construction of the completion of the original National Tennis Centre at York University.

Served as Director of Sport Ontario and as Chairman of the Ontario Sport Administrative Centre.
